Punkie Johnson, a featured player on the popular late-night sketch show "Saturday Night Live", will star opposite William Jackson Harper in the second season of the HBO Max rom-com anthology series "Love Life".
In the new chapter, "The Good Place" star Harper plays the protagonist Marcus Watkins as he comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was going to be his person. The rug is pulled out from under him, and he is plunged back into the search for romantic fulfilment that he thought he had already found.
According to Variety, the second season will also see Leslie Bibb, John Earl Jelks and Arian Moayed join the show in the recurring capacity. Kimberly Elise, Ego Nwodim and Blair Underwood are attached to feature as guest stars on the series.
It will be co-showrun by Sam Boyd, Bridget Bedard and Rachelle Williams. Williams, Bedard and Boyd will also executive produce alongside Harper, Paul Feig and Dan Magnante.
Anna Kendrick, who played the lead in the first season of the series, is on board as an executive producer for the upcoming installment.
The second season of "Love Life", which hails from Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment, is currently in production in New York.
The series was renewed by the WarnerMedia-owned streaming platform a fortnight after its debut on May 27.
