It was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University on May 8, 2000. It is affiliated with around 800 colleges. It was previously located on the IET Lucknow campus. It is now located in Jankipuram in Lucknow.

About AKTU Exam Result -
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University(AKTU).Odd Semester Exams for B.Tech. MBA, MCA, B.Pharma courses. Exams were conducted in December and Practical in January. Exams were conducted in May-June for Semester (II), IV, VI and VIII. Students took the Ist, IIIrd and VIIth Semester Exam Dec.. Students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year are still waiting for their results. UPTU will announce the results for Odd/ Even Semester Examination on its official website.
