Apple launches iPad Air mini before the big event

Apple's unexpected move to launch a video streaming service next Tuesday was reflected in Monday's unveiling of an iPad Air (10.5 inches) and a mini (7.9 inches) from the company.

The new iPad Air mini and iPad Air can be ordered in silver, space-gray and gold in 64GB and256GB versions. Keyboard support is available for the first times.

The company stated in a statement that the price of the new iPad mini starts from $399 for WiFi models and $529 to Wi-Fi and Cellular models. For the 10.5-inch iPad Air, it starts at $499 for WiFi models and $629 for WiFi + Cellular models.

India will get the devices sooner.

The A12 Bionic chip combined with Apples Neural engine gives the iPad Air a 75% performance increase and doubles the graphics capabilities. The iPad Air's advanced Retina display features "True Tone" technology, which is nearly 20% larger and contains over half a Million more pixels.

The 7.9 inch iPad mini comes with the A12 Bionic chip. This chip delivers three times more performance and nine-times faster graphics.

Retina displays with True Tone technology, wide colour support and advanced Retina displays are 25% brighter and have the highest pixel density than any iPad.

Both devices are compatible with Apple Pencil.

Phil Schiller is Apple's Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Marketing. He stated, "The iPad family makes two big leaps forward. The all-new 10.5 inch iPad Air brings high-end sizes, features, and performance at an unprecedented price.

According to the company, more than 1.3million apps have been created specifically for iPad. They include AR experiences, drawing with Apple Pencil, as well as connecting with friends.

iPad mini and iPad Air are equipped with advanced front-facing and back-facing camera and can capture high resolution photos and video. 4K film editing is easy thanks to the iPad Air.

Apple will hold an event at Cupertino's Steve Jobs Theater on March 25, where it will unveil a Netflix-like video streaming platform and new Apple news offerings.
