7 Chinese grenades are recovered by the CRPF in Srinagar

Monday’s seizure of seven Chinese grenades by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was made possible by the CRPF. It was located four kilometres from Srinagr’s Lal Chowk.

Officials claim that the grenades were found during the road opening exercise of the 73rd Battalion, Force, and were then stacked in a sandbag, and placed on the road divider of the NH 44.

Given the traffic jam, the grenades weren’t distributed at the site. Officials further stated that they were transferred to the bomb disposal team of the Force and to the state police for disposal in accordance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

It was not the first time that the Chinese grenade had been found in the Valley. In fact, it was recovered on numerous occasions in the past, which suggests the involvement of Pakistan in the insurgency incidents in J&K. A senior official with the security setup said.

For a long time, the Pakistani army has been buying Chinese-made weapons and grenades. Their recovery in J&K shows how Pakistan is determined to disrupt the pace and peace in Jammu & Kashmir.

Intelligence reports have indicated that China is helping Pakistan’s army and its intelligence agency Inter Services Intelligence to smuggle weapons into J&K terror cadres.

China has supplied hundreds of rifles, bullet-proof jackets from China and other gears to the ISI. The ISI tried to send weapons to different parts of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir using drones that were recently shot down by J&K security forces.

Security agencies also reported that China had been providing arms and ammunition for militant groups in the north east, who were trained by them.
