Akali Dal demands that Union Minister Misra be fired

The Shiromani Akali Dal demanded Friday the dismissal and arrest of Ajay Misra (Union Minister of State for home), who is accused of causing the deaths of four farmers in Uttar Pradesh.

Former Union Minister Harsimratkaur Badal visited the homes of four farmers in Lucknow with a delegation from Lakhimpur Kheri to make the demand.

Harsimrat Kaur stated that it was unacceptable that the minister’s son allegedly crushed farmers when they turned their backs towards him in an act de vengeance. This happened after his father had warned farmers to not protest or face the music.

She stated that it was unacceptable that neither the Central government nor the Uttar Pradesh government had taken any action in this egregious case despite the clear evidence.

“Video footage of Ashish Misra’s vehicle is now available. Eyewitnesses have reported that Ashish misra fled the scene after cutting down the farmers. He should be charged with murder immediately. Harsimrat Kaur stated that similar video footage was available of the Union Minister intimidating farmers and inciting violence against them.

She said, “It is wrong for him to remain in the Union Cabinet. The Central government should immediately take action against him.”
