Apple AirPods will soon monitor body temperature and posture

The company is now looking to include health-focused tools into its AirPods, according to media reports. This would allow for better hearing, monitoring posture and reading body temperature, as well as improved hearing.

According to The Wall Street Journal, these plans “further reflect Apple’s ambition to increase health and wellness features on devices other than the Apple Watch”.

The report states that these functions are not expected to be available by next year, and may never be made available to consumers. Or the timing might change. Apple is also developing technology to aid in diagnosing depression and cognitive decline.

Last month’s reports suggested that Apple was looking at ways to add sensors to the Watch. These could include monitoring blood sugar, temperature, and oxygen levels.

The Apple Watch Series 7 includes a new Mindfulness app, sleep rate monitoring and Tai Chi and Pilates workouts that can improve overall wellbeing.

It offers tools for health, such as an ECG app and an electrical heart sensor.

Apple Watch Series 7 is first Apple Watch to be certified IP6X for dust resistance and to maintain a WR50 water resistance rating.
