In September, Apple launched the iPhone 15 series, featuring the iOS 17 update with several new features, including AirDrop enhancements. Following the launch, information about the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 series has started to surface. The company is expected to launch the iPhone 16 series next year with the iOS 18 update, focusing on performance improvements and introducing AI features.

Apple is planning to challenge Google and OpenAI with its next iOS version. Mark Gurman shared that Apple has decided to halt its development work on upcoming software versions like iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS 15 to focus on improving the performance of these versions. This indicates that users can expect better performance in these new versions. Additionally, iOS 18 may include AI features for the first time.
Mark Gurman also mentioned that Apple won’t make any hardware improvements in the iPhone 16 series. The company is concentrating on software enhancements, suggesting that users may not see any changes in the hardware of the iPhone 16. It’s essential to note that Apple has not officially shared any information on this matter, and details might change in the future.
In contrast, Google’s Pixel 8 series is rich in AI features. Google is confident in its AI technology, comparing some AI features directly with the latest iPhone. For instance, Google’s Video Boost feature, expected to arrive on the Pixel 8 Pro in December, is claimed to provide better end video results compared to the latest footage from the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
