YouTube announced that Blackpink, the K-pop star of K-pop, has become the most subscribed artist on YouTube. They have surpassed Justin Bieber’s 65.5 million subscribers.
This is amazing. “It’s a precious time gifted to us by BLINKS (fans),” Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo said in a statement.
According to Billboard.com, “We would like this honor to all our fans around the globe who have loved us throughout,”
“Our BLINKS contributed a lot towards this achievement,” the quartet said. We hope they enjoy this honor. We will keep spreading positivity and great energy through music and videos. They were second on YouTube’s list of most-subscribed artists just a few months ago.
Blackpink has now surpassed 60 million subscribers in April. Bieber currently has 65.1 million.
BTS is next with 57.7 million, followed by Marshmello at 53.8 million and Ariana Grande at 49.6 million.
YouTube claims that Blackpink received more than 9.7 million views in the last year.
They also have four music videos with more than one billion views each: ‘Ddu Du Ddu-Du’ and ‘Kill This Love’ as well as ‘Boombayah’, Kill This Love’ and ‘As if It’s Your Last.
The group’s new album comes the same day Lisa released her solo project, “Lalisa”. She is the third member to release a solo album.
Jennie released the appropriately named ‘Solo” in November 2018. Rose released -R- in March, which featured a mix of ‘On The Ground’ and “Gone”. Jisoo will make her solo debut as the last Blackpink member.
YG Entertainment has formed Blackpink, a South Korean girl band. The group’s debut album, ‘Square One’ was released in August 2016. It featured ‘Whistle and ‘Boombayah.
