Bush Market, Kabul, renamed after Mujahideen

Khaama Press reported that the Bush Market, a Kabul market, was renamed Mujahideen Bazar by its shopkeepers to attract customers, particularly the Mujahideen and Taliban.

Although it is not clear if the Taliban ordered the shopkeepers change their name, photos of the scene reveal that they are hanging the new board.

The Taliban had changed the names of Hamid Karzai International Airport and Kabul International Airport to Burhanuddin Rabbani University and Masoud Square to Public Health Square, Kabul.

Bush Market was well-known for selling military clothing, shoes, jumpers and other items to US soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. It was therefore named after the US President.
