Case regarding money laundering: Delhi Court Notice to ED Jacqueline Fernandez asks for permission to travel abroad

A Delhi Court requested a response from Enforcement Directorate on a Jacqueline Fernandez application, which was filed by the actor of Bollywood, seeking permission to release her passport in order to urgently travel to Abu Dhabi and UAE, Nepal, France, and France for 15 Days.
Fernandez is under investigation by the ED in a Rs 200 Crore extortion case involving alleged Conman Sukesh Chaudrasekhar.
She was previously questioned by the probe agency in connection with a money laundering investigation against Sukesh Chandrashekhar, and other suspects.
On Wednesday, Praveen Singh, Additional Sessions Judge, sought a response form the probe agency. The matter was scheduled for May 18, 2022 for hearing.
Fernandez, a Sri Lankan national who has been living in India since 2009, is the one who submitted the plea. He belongs to a Bollywood fraternity. His name is well-known in Bollywood.
Advocate Ajit Sing, representing the actor, stated that the ED filed the chargesheet and did not name the applicant as an accuse in this case. The ED has taken the passport of the applicant without citing any reasons to him.

The application states that the applicant is a famous film actor and is invited to events, presse conferences, rehearsals, and participation in events.
The applicant asks for her passport to be released and requests permission from the Hon’ble Court to travel from May 17, 2022 to May 22, 20,22 to Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is because the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), awards, and the 2022 IFA weekend are being held in Abu Dhabi.
The application states that the applicant actor represents Hindi film industry at Cannes Film Festival, and was invited to attend the festival from May 17-2022 to May 28 2022 in France.
The applicant has been invited to attend the Dabang Show in Nepal from May 27, 2022 to May 28, 2022.
“Only after the release and authorization from this Court of her passport, the applicant will book flights and submit the detailed itinerary to this Court afterwards,” the plea read.
“The Applicant has been a part of the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation and is ready and willing to comply with any conditions this Court may impose if granted the prayer. The Applicant will suffer severe prejudice if she is denied permission to travel abroad. However, the prosecution agency will not be served if the Application is granted,” the plea added.
