UNIT-NUMBER SYTEMS

1.REAL NUMBER

The Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic is statements that are based on previous work and illustrated and motivated by examples. Decimal representation of rational numbers in terms of terminating/non-terminating recurring decimals.

UNIT-ALGEBRA

2.POLYNOMIALS

Zeroes in a polynomial. Only the relationship between zeroes, coefficients, and quadratic polynomials.

3.PAIR OF LINEAR EQATIONS IN TWO VARIABLES

Pair of linear equations in two variables and graphical method of their solution, consistency/inconsistency. Number of solutions: Algebraic conditions Algebraically, there are two ways to solve a pair linear equations with two variables: by substitution or elimination. Simple situations. Simple problems involving equations that can be reduced to linear equations.

UNIT-COORDINATE GEOMETARY

4.COORDINATE GEOMETARY

LINES (In two dimensions)

Review: Concepts and graphs of linear equations. Distance formula. Section formula (internal division)

UNIT-GEOMETRY

5.TRIANGLES

Examples, definitions, and counter examples of similar triangles.

1. 1.

2. 2.

3. (Motivate). If two triangles have equal angles, the sides that correspond to them are proportional.

4. (Motivate). If the sides of two triangles have a proportional ratio, the angles are equal. The two triangles will be similar.

5. (Motivate). If one angle in a triangle equals one angle in another triangle, and the sides including these angles have proportional values, then the two triangles will be similar.

6. 6.

7. (Motivate). The ratio of areas of similar triangles to each other is equal to their squares.

8. 8.

9. (Motivate). If the square on one of the sides is equal to the sum of the squares from the other two sides, then the angle opposite the first side is called a right angle.

UNIT-TRIGONOMETRY

6.INTRODUCTION to TRIGONOMETRY

Trigonometric ratios for an acute angle of right-angled triangle. Their existence is well established. The trigonometric ratios 300, 450, and 600 have their values. Relationships between these ratios.

TRIGONOMETRIC IDENTITIES

The identity sin2A+cos2A = 1 must be proven and applied. Only simple identities are allowed to be given

UNIT-MENSURATION

CBSE Class 10 Maths Term 1 Syllabus 2021-2022

7.AREAS RELATED to CIRCLES

Motivate the area of a circular area; area of segments and sectors of a circular area. Areas and circumference of the above mentioned plane figures are used to solve problems. When calculating the area of a segment of a circle’s circumference, it is important to keep problems within the central angle of 60deg or 90deg. Plane figures that involve triangles, simple quadrilaterals, and circles should be considered.

UNIT- STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY

8.PROBABILITY

Classical definitions of probability. Problems simple in determining the probability of an event.
