Physical Standard Test:

The Exam Pattern for the Written Exam Is as follows:

For Male Candidates :

  • The policy outlined in the Compendium of Instructions Home Guards-2007 issued to the Govt. will govern the enrolment. MHA, New Delhi. The minimum age for a volunteer is 18 years, and the maximum age is 50 years. There will be relaxation for those who are specially qualified to act in Instructors/Leaders or specialized personnel. They must have a height of 165 cm and a normal chest measurement of 80 cmimetres with an expansion of 04cmimetres.
  • As proof of their certificates, the person from the notified hilly area will receive an OS centimetres reduction in height or chest measurement. Matric (l8th) is the minimum educational qualification.
  • The Commandant General Home Guards can relax the educational and physical standards in exceptional circumstances. This must be documented in writing.
  • For those over 35 years old, the physical test will include a one-mile race in 08 minutes and a one-mile jog in 15 minutes.

For Female Candidates :

  • The policy outlined in the Compendium of Instructions Home Guards-2007 issued to the Govt. will govern the enrolment. MHA, New Delhi. Volunteers must not be younger than 18 years old and should not exceed 45 years with relaxation for those who are specially qualified to teach/ lead or specialized personnel. They must also have a minimum height no less than 158 cm.
  • On production of certificates, persons from notified hills will receive a 05 cm increment in height measurement. Minimum educational qualifications shall be Matric (10 ”).).
  • In exceptional circumstances, the Commandant General Home Guards can relax the educational and physical standards. This must be documented in writing.
  • For those over 25 years old, the physical test will include 400m running in 2X minutes and 800m jogging for those above 45 years.
