Virat Kohli has been struggling to bat because of the England’s bowling attack’s ability in right areas to consistently bowl without giving off any loose deliveries. Rajkumar Sharma, his former coach, said that Virat Kohli has performed well in all innings he played.
India’s No. 32-year-old batsman has accumulated 124 runs in the five innings of the first three Tests. The 4th Test’s No.1 batsman, who averaged 24.8 runs per innings, has compiled 124 runs in five innings.
Sharma was a coach for Kohli during his childhood and is still closely involved with his one-time ward. He said that England should be commended for keeping India’s captain under control.
“I feel that he has been playing well from the start of the series. You know that every batsman has the ability to get out. Sharma told that England has done their homework and is bowling in the right areas. He’s not being given loose deliveries.”
“England is a place you can get fired at any time. The ball moves when the clouds appear. The ball stops moving when the sun goes down. “So you need to concentrate,” Sharma said, adding that Kohli is decisive.
“He was decisive in the last innings about which balls to play and which to not. Only a batsman can get out if he makes a mistake. England deserves credit for their consistency. Joe Root, England captain, praised his bowlers on Tuesday for keeping Kohli still.
“I believe a lot of credit must go to our bowling team. Virat is a world-class bowler, there’s no doubt about it. Our bowlers deserve credit for that, I believe. Root spoke to media via a virtual interaction and said that they were able to keep him silent.
Root said, “We must keep him quiet and increase pressure.”
Sharma stated that it was not difficult to keep a top-notch batsman in check today.
“This is the age of videography. The coach said, “You can see repeatedly where the batsman’s strength is and where he is weak.”
“Every team prepares for every series. The [Team] Coach explains everything. Sometimes, it can be difficult to do these things. England is able to execute because they have wickets. We are also feeling the pressure. They are also able to experiment because they get wickets at regular intervals.
“You must ensure that you don’t chase it outside of the off-stump. Anderson is a great bowler, and I must give them a lot of credit. He is a tremendous bowler. He can bowl in one area for long periods of time. He is able to bowl in one area for a long time. He is reliable and knows the conditions. He can swing late. His talent is outstanding.” Root assured that Root’s bowling attack would continue to do the great work.
“What we have are a tremendous effort from the bowling team. He said that it is something he will continue to do if he wants to win the series.
“We will continue to look for ways. Root said, “Hopefully we can put pressure on him (Kohli) and contain him.”
