Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta star in The Intern, Amit Sharma ropes Neena Gupta in for him

Amit Ravindernath, a filmmaker, has cast Neena Gupta as the film’s director. Badhaai Ho by Amit Sharma changed Neena Gupta’s acting career. Filmmakers were not recognising her talents.

Deepika Padukone was a producer along with Chhapaak when she announced the Hindi remake to Hollywood’s hit The Intern in April 2013. Deepika shared details about the film. She said that “The Intern” is an intimate film that is relationship-driven. It is set in and around the workplace. This story is relevant to today’s cultural and social environment. This story is a perfect fit for me. It’s light and breezy comedy-drama that I was looking for. This is a journey I am excited to embark on.

The Intern will be directed by Amit Sharma. The screenplay adaptation and dialogues are being written by Akshat Ghildial, Mitesh Shah and Mitesh Shaikh. Deepika and Amitabh Bachchan will reunite after their previous film Piku. With Neena Gupta joining the team, she will also be reunited with Big B in their next film Goodbye. Rishi Kapoor originally played Amitabh Bachchan’s part. Big B assumed the role after his death in 2011.

Neena Gupta said earlier that Badhaai ho had changed her career. Amit Sharma also stated that he will cast Badhaai Ho-Neena Gopta and Gajraj Ro wherever he can in the films. Neena Gupta expressed gratitude to Amit Sharma after she played Badhaai Ho. Filmmakers are now trying to get her to appear in their films.

Amit Sharma cast Gajraj Ro in a solid part in Maidaan, which starred Ajay Devgan. However, he brought Neena Gopta to The Intern.
