Ex-JD(U), MLA found guilty in CPI(M), leader’s attack case

Rambalak Singh, a former Janata Dal (United), MLA was convicted Friday in a case under Arms Act and for trying to assassinate CPI(M leader Lalan Singh at Samastipur in Bihar.

September 13th will see the court pronounce the punishment. He was placed in judicial custody for 14 days.

Rambalak Singh, a former MLA for the Vibhutipur assembly constituency. However, he lost the 2020 election.

Vibhutipur police station registered an FIR against him for attempted murder and Arms Act violations.

According to the allegations, Rambalak and his brother were involved in an attack against Lalan Singh, CP1(M), leader.

Lalan Singh was returning to his marriage function on June 4, 2021 when the incident occurred. Rambalak Singh, his brother and a bicycle rider, caught Lalan Singh near Vibhutipur, and opened fire on him. Lalan Singh suffered injuries to his hand.

The FIR was filed June 4, and the former MLA was placed on interim bail.

After he was found guilty by the court, bail was cancelled and he was sent to judicial supervision.
