FIFA Rankings: Indian men’s team rises to 104th and women’s team leapt to 56th

After their impressive Asian Cup qualification, the Indian senior football team saw two positions rise from 106th place to 104th in FIFA’s latest world rankings.
The Indian women’s senior football team was also successful, climbing three places from the 59th to the 56th position.
The Blue Tigers showcased an outstanding performance in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers campaign. They won all three games against Afghanistan, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Hong Kong.

History was made by Chhetri and his team when it was India’s first-ever back to back qualification in the AFC Asian Cup. It is due to be held in 2023. They now rank just below New Zealand (103rd), which recently lost their World Cup qualification spot for Costa Rica.
India’s AFC ranking is unchanged at 19th. Iran, however, leads the rankings at first.
The Blue Tigresses on the other side beat Jordan and Egypt by 1-0 in international friendlies earlier this year
