Amid ongoing Israeli actions against Hamas strongholds in Gaza, a delegation from the Palestinian group is currently on a visit to Moscow, according to Al Jazeera’s report. The delegation includes senior Hamas member Abu Marzouk.

Russia has good relations with all Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, Iran, Palestine, and Hamas. Moscow has repeatedly held the United States responsible for the failure of American diplomacy in the Israel-Hamas conflict and has called for an end to the hostilities while advocating for a peaceful resolution. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani is also visiting Moscow.
In recent days, both Russia and China vetoed a United Nations Security Council proposal backed by the United States regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. The United States has been fully supportive of Israel since the outbreak of hostilities with Hamas. President Joe Biden himself has visited Israel in the past, reinforcing American support. The U.S. has also called on Israel to make essential supplies available for the conflict and expressed that Israel was not involved in the attack on Gaza hospitals, emphasizing that the casualties there are not Israel’s responsibility.
The situation in the Middle East remains volatile, with international players, including Russia, China, and the United States, all having varying degrees of influence and involvement. The outcome of these diplomatic efforts in Moscow and international politics could impact the situation on the ground in the Israel-Gaza conflict.
