Apple announced Monday, October 18, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, that it would hold a special event.
The event will live stream from Apple Park. Apple teases the event by using the tagline “Unleashed”, which could be a hint at new M1X MacBooks.
The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website, YouTube channel and Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Apple will likely announce its next-generation Mac computers powered by its own Apple Silicon chips.
According to industry sources the shipment of LEDs and related components to Apple assembly partners for the MacBook Pro models is on schedule.
Apple’s adoption of mini-LED panels for its forthcoming MacBook models will encourage supplier investment and drive the industry to adopt the technology.
Redesigned MacBook Pro models 14-inch and 16-inch will be available this year. They will feature next-generation Apple silicon chip technology, the removal or return of the Touch Bar and a new design that includes a HDMI port as well as an SD card slot.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple is actively looking for second suppliers of key Mini LED parts. If its mini-LED notebooks get positive feedback, then other notebook makers will be encouraged to adopt the technology.
