India’s September vehicle retail sales fell sequentially YoY: FADA

In September 2021, India saw a decrease in production as a result of a shortage of semiconductor supplies and a longer waiting time.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), released data that showed a 5.27 percent decrease in September 2020.

Last month’s vehicle retail sales were 12,96,257, compared to 13,68,307 units in 2020.

The FADA reported that August 2021 saw an increase in vehicle retail sales of 13,84711 units on a sequential basis.

Similar to the September 2019 (pre-pandemic), retail sales for last month showed a 13.50% decline.

The September 2019 total vehicle retail sales were 14,98,585 units.

Segment-wise, passenger vehicle retail sales increased 16.32 percent during the month under review, compared to September 2020.

From 200,576 units sold in September 2020, PV retail sales increased to 233,308 units.
