The Indian cricket team has been putting up a splendid performance in the World Cup 2023 so far. Team India has played five matches, and they’ve emerged victorious in all of them. However, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has suffered an injury that could potentially raise concerns for Team India’s future matches. According to a report, due to this injury, Pandya might be sidelined for the next three matches. He didn’t play against New Zealand, and it’s uncertain whether he will be available for the upcoming match against England.

Hardik Pandya is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. As per reports, he has a Grade 1 ligament tear in his ankle, causing significant swelling and pain. The good news is that it’s not a fracture. An NCA official mentioned that Pandya’s injury could be somewhat serious, and he won’t return to the field until he is fully fit.
Pandya sustained this injury during the match between India and Bangladesh. He has been absent from the field since then, and there is no official information available regarding his return. For the match against New Zealand, India included Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami in the playing eleven. Now, for the match against England, they might consider giving Ravichandran Ashwin an opportunity.
It’s worth mentioning that the Indian cricket team is currently at the top of the points table. They’ve played five matches, winning all of them. India defeated Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in their previous matches. Their upcoming matches in the World Cup are against Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the Netherlands.
