IS-K has ties to Taliban, Haqqani Network

Amrullah Saleh has declared himself acting President for Afghanistan. He stated that Islamic State-Khorasan, also known as IS-K, is rooted in Taliban and Haqqani Network.

According to reports, the IS-K claimed responsibility for Thursday’s devastating bombings at Kabul Airport that killed at least 90 people. This includes 13 US service personnel.

“All evidence that we have shows that IS-K cells are rooted in Talibs & Haqani Network, especially those operating in Kabul,” said the group. Talibs’ denial of IS links is similar to Quetta Shura denial of Pakistan. “Talibs have learned a lot from the master,” Saleh stated in a tweet.

Officials from the Taliban claimed that at most 28 Afghans were killed in Thursday’s attack.

According to a Western security official, the evacuation of civilians has been increased following the attacks. He also stated that flights are regularly taking off from the United States. US President Joe Biden claimed that he will “hunt them down”
According to NBC News, the Haqani Network, which officials claim functions as an organized crime family has been implicated in the kidnappings of many Americans as part of a broad kidnap for ransom operation.
