Gumla: Jharkhand government claims to build a pucca road in the state, but all the claims and promises of the government and administration in Gumla district are proving to be false. Even today there are many villages in the district which have not got the benefit of being in the middle of the headquarters.

The whole matter is of Murgo Panchayat of Sisai block of Gumla. A 250-feet road was to be built from Karanj Toli to Navatoli in Pantayat. Tana Bhagat is angry due to non-construction of road. Tana devotees reached the DDC office and informed the officer about the whole matter. Hundreds of people in the costume of Mahatma Gandhi reached the sub-development office, ringing bells, demanding to build a road. People entered the DDC office and told their problem to the officer.

bad weather in the rain
Tana devotees told the official that the 250 feet road from Karanj Toli to Navatoli located in Murgo Panchayat of Sisai block is very dilapidated and bad. The sick cannot be taken even by sitting in a cot. There are 50 houses in the village in which about 500 to 600 families live. After leaving home, there is no road to reach the headquarters. In the dry days, one has to travel through the fields and roads. But during the rainy season this area turns into an island. There is no relief facility even in emergency situation. It is difficult to even leave the house.

movement alert
Tana devotees have appealed to the Deputy Development Commissioner of the district, Hemant Sati, to deal with the problem of the road. Tana devotees have talked about getting the road built at the earliest, otherwise Tana devotees have warned of agitation. Tana devotees said that it has been 75 years since independence. But even today 250 feet of road has not been constructed. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Deputy Development Commissioner has assured to build the road at the earliest.
