John Abraham, an actor who is busy promoting his upcoming thriller “Ek Villain Returns”, recently revealed his preference for acting on the big screen over OTT platforms.
The actor said, “I wouldn’t like to be available at Rs 299 or R 499,” according to reports.
Mashable claims that Satyamev Jayate, the actor from ‘Satyamev Jayate, spoke in an interview about his thoughts on the growing OTT platform and that he “loved” the OTT space, but not as an actor.
“I am a big screen hero, and that is where my heart desires to be. At this point, I plan to make films that appeal to the big screen. It would be offensive if someone cut off my film halfway through on a tablet to go to the bathroom. I don’t want to be available for either Rs299 nor 499. It is not something I like,” the actor stated.
The OTT industry has seen rapid growth over the past few decades. Many Bollywood celebrities like Sidharth and Akshay, among others, are all ready for their OTT debuts.
Despite the fact that his last film, “Attack Part One”, was released theatrically, the actor from ‘Batla’ doesn’t seem to be interested in digital projects.
John Abraham received some rebuke from netizens in the meantime for his remarks on OTT platforms.
A user tweeted: “I will go to John Abraham’s next movie in theatre and walk outside to pee when it inevitably takes his shirt of”
Another user wrote: “Please pass this gentle reminder John Abraham that we don’t want to see him acting in the theatres and on OTT.”
The actor will next be seen in Mohit Sutaria’s ‘Ek Villain Returns’ with Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani. The film will be released in theatres on July 29, 2022.
His upcoming lineup also includes ‘Pathaan’ with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and is set to release on January 25, 20,23.
