Kajol Mukherji and Rani Mukherji celebrate Durga Puja every year with their families at a puja pahadal in Mumbai. Last year Durga Puja festival was very low-key due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, Kajol and Rani Mukherji were able to be seen with their families, but Rani Mulherji was absent from the festivity on Day 1 of Durga Puja.
Kajol was full of energy when she rang in the festival. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress, wearing a dark pink saree, was seen in Mumbai at Durga Puja pandal with Sharbani Mukherjee, her cousin and actor. The paparazzi also snapped Kajol with her uncle Deb Mukherjee at a Durga Puja pandal. Ayan Mukerji, a filmmaker, organizes the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja each year.

Annually, the festivities are attended by members of the Mukherjee clan, which includes Tanuja, yesteryear’s star, and her daughters Kajol, Tanish Mukherjee, and niece Rani Mukherjee. Deb Mukherjee also hosts pujas for Bollywood stars like the Bachchans.
As last year, North Bombay Sarbojanin durga puja was also virtualized to protect against the Covid-19 pandemic. Because it is organized by Ayan Mukhorjee and Deb Mokherji, this Durga Puja Pandal attracts a lot media attention. Deb Mukherjee stated, “This year is the second year that we are doing a virtual Durga Puja. We must keep our social distance and wear masks so that we don’t allow too many people to come in. It is restricted to members. We felt that going virtual was the best choice for everyone’s safety. The members can only visit the pandal during a certain time.
Kajol posted her day 1 look to Instagram. The Tanhaji actress chose a beautiful pink saree and tied her hair in an up-do. Her saree was adorned with a stunning gold and pearl necklace. The actress can be seen laughing at one joke in one of the photos. The caption to the photos read, “Started out all beautiful and then somebody cracked a joke #alldressedup#durgapuja#sohappytobehere”.
