K’taka sends back hijab-clad college students

B.C., Karnataka Education minister, made the following statement: Nagesh, the Karnataka Education Minister B.C.

The incident happened at Mangaluru University College.

According to the decision of its syndicate, the college had prohibited the wearing of hijab.

While most Muslim students did not attend classes on Saturday, twelve students brought hijab to class.

They demanded that they be allowed to wear hijab while attending classes.

However, the college principal prohibited them from attending classes. The students were also denied permission for the library.

Because the hijab row in the district is back, the College Development Committee has decided that students will be allowed to remove it in rest rooms before they can attend classes.
