Last rites for Kashmiri Pandit, who was shot and killed by terrorists in J-K’s Budgam

The final rites of Kashmiri Pandit (a government employee who was killed by terrorists in Jammu Kashmir’s Budgam) were performed at Bantalab here Friday.
For the final rites, ADGP Jammu Mukesh Sing, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kul and Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavanda were present at cremation ground.

Chadoora Tehsil employee Bhatt was attacked by terrorists at the Tehsil office at Budgam yesterday. He was taken to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital where he was declared deceased.
Today, people gathered to witness Bhatt’s final rites.
Locals protested against the killings and demanded security for Kashmiri Hindus who live in the Valley.

One local told ANI that the Khasmiri Pandits should have shelter in one location and that jobs should be provided in the surrounding areas. They will only then be safe. This is a targeted killing. Targeted killing is when you enter the office looking for him. This is done to prevent them from returning to Kashmir.
Rakesh Bhatt from another locality, who was present at cremation ground, said that Kashmiri Hindus shouldn’t be sent back to Kashmir but should be sheltered in Jammu safe camp.

“The targeted killings have shocked the whole community. Employees should not be sent back into Kashmir. They should instead come to Jammu to stay in safe camps. The slogan of the terrorists will not stop, so the Kashmiri Hindus must stay away from Kashmir. He said that even if they do return, they should be granted security.”
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned “barbaric killing” on Thursday
“I strongly condemn Rahul Bhat’s barbaric murder by terrorists in Budgam. This despicable terrorist attack will not be tolerated. The J-K government is standing in solidarity with the family who has lost a loved one in this time of grief,” the Office of the Jammu and Kashmir Governor stated in a statement.
Jammu and Kashmir police reported that preliminary investigations had revealed that two terrorists were behind the terrible crime. They also used pistols for the crime.
