Last November, OpenAI launched ChatGPT, causing a sensation in the market. This chatbot garnered a whopping 1 million visits in just a few days. Seeing the growth of ChatGPT, other major tech companies began working on their AI tools. A recent study highlighted the most popular AI tools in the last 12 months, revealing that the AI chatbot developed by OpenAI dominated its competitors, accumulating a total of 14.6 billion visits between September 2022 and August 2023.

Following ChatGPT, the second spot was held by Character AI. For those unfamiliar, Character AI allows users to chat with various AI chatbots embodying different personalities. During this period, Character AI had a total of 3.8 billion visits, although this number is significantly less than ChatGPT.
Notably, a study some time ago compared Character AI to ChatGPT, revealing that Character AI spent almost eight times more time engaging with visitors on its platform.
