Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with more than 150 startups on January 15, to help boost the country’s startup ecosystem, the Prime Minister’s Office said Friday.
This interaction will include startups from different sectors such as Agriculture, Health Enterprise Systems, Space and Security.
According to the PMO, more than 150 startups were divided into six groups. These working groups were based on themes such as Growing from Roots; Nudging DNA; From Local To Global; Technology of Future; Building Champions for Manufacturing and Sustainable Development.
Each group will present to the Prime Minister on the assigned theme of the interaction. According to the release, the interaction will help to understand how startups can drive innovation and meet national needs.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a week-long celebration hosted by DPIIT Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It will take place from 10-16 January 2022. This event celebrates the 6th anniversary since the Startup India initiative was launched.
The Prime Minister believes that startups can contribute to the country’s growth. This was evident in the launch in 2016 of Startup India, the PMO stated.
The government has been working to create an environment that encourages the development and growth of Startups. The statement stated that this has had a significant impact on the country’s startup ecosystem and led to an astonishing growth in the number of unicorns.
