Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Punjab Police IT, Finance, Legal and Forensic Posts

Education Qualification

IT

  1. Computer/Digital Forensic Officer – A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication with an emphasis on Computer software and programming. This degree can be obtained from a Central Government or State Government approved or AICTE accredited University or Institution. A minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or any e-Governance Project.
  2. Information Technology Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication. The emphasis is on Computer software and programming. This degree can be obtained from an AICTE-accredited University or Institution. Experience in the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or any e-Governance Project is a must.
  3. Information Technology Assistant (Software). Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication. The emphasis is on Computer software and programming. This degree must be from an AICTE-approved University or Institution. Two years’ experience in the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or any e-Governance Project is a minimum.

Finance

  1. Financial Investigation Support Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Finance from an Institution or University that is Centrally or State-Recognized. Minimum of 07 years experience in financial fraud or accounting investigations
  2. Financial Investigation Support Assistant – Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Finance from an Institution or University that is Centrally or State-Recognized. Minimum 02 years experience in financial fraud or accounting investigations

Legal

  1. Legal Officer – A Bachelor’s Degree in law with at least fifty percent marks from a Central Government recognized University or Institution. Minimum of 7 years experience as a legal practitioner or practicing lawyer in the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, or District Courts.
  2. Assistant Legal Officer – Bachelor’s degree in Law (minimum fifty percent) or equivalent from a Central Government-recognized University or Institution. Minimum of 02 years experience as a Legal Practitioner or practicing attorney in the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, or District Courts.

Forensics

  1. Forensics Officer – Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Sciences or equivalent from a Central Government-recognized University or Institution. A minimum of 07 years’ relevant experience in any Government or Quasi Government Forensics Organization or Central or State Government Accredited Forensic Sciences Laboratory(ies), Institute(s), or Central or State Government Chemical Examiner Laboratory (ies) or any Public Sector Laboratory.
  2. Assistant Forensics Officer- Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Sciences or equivalent from a Central Government or State Government Recognized University or Institution. Experience of minimum 02 years in any Government or Quasi Government Forensics Organization, Central or State Government Accredited Forensic Sciences Laboratory(ies), Institute(s), or Central or State Government Chemical Examiner Laboratory (ies) or any Public Sector Laboratory(ies).

Selection Process for Punjab Police IT, Finance, Legal and Forensic Posts

Online written exams will be used to make the selection.

  1. The Computer-Based Test (CBT), which is a paper lasting two hours, will contain 100 multiple choice questions.
  2. Each incorrect answer will be marked with a negative marking to 25% of all marks.
