Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader arrived in Rajasthan’s Udaipur to attend Friday’s three-day Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir.
Rahul Gandhi traveled by train to Udaipur, Delhi on Thursday.
Congress’ three day Chintan Shivir Congress meeting will be held today in Udaipur. It will discuss ‘communalpolarization’, farmers issues, strengthening the party and the possibility of a run-off election, informed party sources.
According to sources, Congress leaders will talk about the Centre-State relationship as well as the situation in northeastern states and Jammu and Kashmir. They also discuss communal polarization.
The brainstorming session will bring together around 400 top Congress leaders from across the nation. Congress will host a ‘Chintan Shivir” in Udaipur under its interim President Sonia Gandhi. It will hold discussions about party organization and develop a strategy to challenge BJP at the upcoming 2024 general election.

In the Congress Working Committee (CWC), meeting on March 14, top leaders demanded Rahul Gandhi take over as Congress President.
Sources say that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury a senior Congress leader told Wayanad MP during the meeting that he should accept his post as President.
Sources also informed that Rahul was ready to consider the position. Following this meeting, it was decided to hold the election as President of August-September. The meeting decided that the ongoing election process cannot be interrupted.
After the defeat at Lok Sabha polls 2019, Rahul Gandhi resigned as Congress president. Sonia Gandhi took over the role of interim president.
During the Chintan Shivir in Udaipur, there will be discussions and important decisions regarding the post as Congress president.
The Chintan Shivir is being hosted in the context of the party’s defeat in five elections to state assemblies earlier in the year. In the eight-year history of elections, the party has suffered several electoral defeats. Some of the party’s most prominent members have also left Congress.
The Chintan Shivir will begin on May 13th with Sonia Gandhi’s address and end on May 14th with Rahul Gandhi’s speech.
