Ebrahim Raisi, Iranian President, has asked the new administration to address economic issues independent of the recent nuclear talks that were aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear agreement.
Raisi stated that it was important to separate the economic problems of the country from the nuclear talks. This should be considered by all government members, especially the Economic Coordination Headquarters, during Sunday’s first cabinet meeting.
These comments echo previous remarks by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Muhammad Khamenei, who called for officials to address the country’s economic problems independently of US sanctions against Iran and the results from recent nuclear talks.
Raisi also stressed the importance of observing the “principleof justice” in executive directives. He stated that all government decisions must be justice-oriented and that the executive should implement directives based upon this principle.
He also noted that fair distribution of cash subsidies should be done through better planning.
Raisi, Iran’s President has pledged that his government will do everything possible to address the economic problems in the country and improve the livelihood of Iranians living under the Covid-19 sanctions.
