According to sources, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved this scheme announced in the budget of the financial year 2022-23. Under this, children from class 1st to 8th in the state will now get milk two days a week under the ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana’. This system will be implemented in government schools, madrasas and special training centers associated with the mid-day meal scheme.
Enrollment and attendance in government schools will increase
Additional Chief Secretary (Education) Pawan Kumar Goel said that with the implementation of this scheme, along with improving the nutritional level of children up to class VIII, enrollment and attendance in government schools will increase and students’ drop out will also stop. Will be able This will also improve the nutritional value of the ‘Mid Day Meal’. He said that under the scheme, about 69 lakh 21 thousand children studying in government schools would be provided milk prepared from powder, two days a week, on Tuesday and Friday. If there is a holiday on these days, milk will be made available on the next academic day.
150 ml milk will be given to children of classes I to V and 200 ml to children of classes 6 to 8. Goyal informed that the powder milk will be procured from the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation. District wise allocation of powdered milk will be done through the Commissionerate, Mid Day Meal. Milk will be provided to the students in each school immediately after the prayer meeting on the scheduled days. Necessary guidelines have been issued for the smooth operation of the scheme.
