Shriyanka Sadangi finished in fourth place in the Women’s 50m Rifle Three Positions (3P) at the Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea. This achievement secured India’s 13th quota for the Paris Olympics. Shriyanka scored 440.5 but narrowly missed out on a medal as she was eliminated after the 43rd shot in the final. Korea’s experienced shooter Yunseo Lee won the gold medal, while China’s Hanyao Jia took the silver. Shiyan Siyu from China secured the bronze.

India’s number one ranked shooter, Sifat Kaur Samra, played solely for ranking points and achieved a qualification score of 592. Ashi Chaukasi scored 591. Shriyanka and Ayushi Podder made it to the top eight with scores of 588 and 587, respectively. Manini Kaushik finished in seventh place. In the final, Shriyanka started with a score of 10.9.
After the first five kneeling shots, her score was 51.3, while Ayushi and Ashi were in sixth and seventh positions respectively. Ashi had a good start in the prone position, while Shriyanka was in fourth place. Ayushi slipped to the seventh position. Shriyanka scored 10.8 in the fourth shot, while Ashi scored 8.7. The quota for India was determined after the first ten standing shots. Baee Sanghee from Korea and Ayushi finished in eighth and seventh places, respectively.
