Snapchat, a popular social media platform, was shut down worldwide on Wednesday night. Many users were unable post stories or send messages.
Snap, the parent company behind Snapchat, tweeted that they were aware of the problems Snapchatters are experiencing with the app. We’re investigating it! Snapchat’s problems were reported by Down Detector, an app outage tracking website.
41% of users are having trouble using the app. 27% were experiencing problems sharing photos or videos.
Snapchat users took to Twitter to voice their grievances.
One user posted, “Everyone running on Twitter to see what it is not just their Snapchat bugging.”
Another tweet said, “Instagram and WhatsApp are seeing Snapchat go down.”
Snapchat was not yet resolved.
An outage that occurred earlier this month caused the entire Facebook app family to be unavailable for several hours. This had a devastating effect on millions of Facebook users.
