Thailand’s goons stopped the production of a Malayalam film about the rescue of children in Thailand’s cave. Locals prevented the filming in Thaipong. Mathrubhumi.com reported that director Linchu Esthapan said these were local goons.
The Thai government granted permission for Action 22 to begin filming. The locals demanded money during the filming. They were not satisfied with their demands. Then came annoyance. For filming, stones or gitch paint were added to expensive cars that were rented. The director then decided to contact the police.
After discussion with Murali, Subair Ali Khan, Sri Prasad and Rajeev Mananthavadi as well as Jyothish José, the Thai police decided that filming could resume. It was pouring hard at the time. The locals, however, refused to take photos in the rain.
Lynch said that, despite being economically backward in Thailand’s hinterlands, gangsterism appears to be growing despite this. The police intervened and stated that they could provide security to the shoot. However, he stated that the producer had refused to do so.
Lynch stated that the location was chosen due to a Thai incident. Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad is where the cast and crew will be filming.
Bharath, a Tamil actor, plays the leading role. Chandran Thikkodi produces Action 22 under the banners of Kalesh Krishna Shankar, Shabarish verma, Irshad, and Lalu Alex Bharathi Creations.
