Twitter is testing a new “CC” button to disable captions for videos that have captions, announced the social media giant.
According to microblogging site, roll-outs are currently available for iOS users but will soon be available for Android.
In a tweet, the company stated that video captions can be chosen for either no or video captions. Verge reported, “On videos with captions available we’re testing out the option to turn captions on/off with a new ‘CC’ button.”
Since Tesla CEO Elon Musk made the argument to buy Twitter, the microblogging platform has been introducing many features while others are requested by users. Users of the micro-blogging platform have welcomed the introduction of the ALT badge and image descriptions as well as the long-requested ability to ‘edit tweets’.
TechCrunch claims that Twitter is currently working on a feature that allows users to set statuses for their tweets and profiles. It’s not clear if users would be able only to choose pre-defined statuses or whether they would have the option of creating their own.
