Officials announced Tuesday that the Women Cricket Premier League will be held at Doru Stadium in Jammu Kashmir’s Anantnag region, from August 30 through September 11.
According to the Army, eight teams will participate in this year’s second edition.
Yusuf Pathan, an Indian cricketer, witnessed the inaugural match. He encouraged young players to practice their skills with heart and soul while interacting with them.
The tournament’s first edition was held in October 2020. There were four local teams that participated in matches over two days. Anantnag Blue had won the first edition of the tournament. Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan encouraged them via video messages. The winning team was also invited on a capability-building tour to Mumbai, Pune and given the opportunity to play cricket alongside local teams. The army stated that they had also visited the Indian Army’s premier military training institution, the National Defence Academy at Khadakvasla. They had also met famous celebrities like Nana Patekar.”

Along with P.V., the daughters of Kashmir are striving to have their names mentioned. Sindhu Mirabai Chanu and Mithali Raj, Sangeeta, Ritu Phogat, and Sangeeta are just a few of the many.
